Into the Old Woods
Humans have always lived in the Western Lands, but never in numbers as great as in the recent centuries. In ages past, free humans lived as nomadic tribes, surviving in the wilderness and hiding from the Great Dragons who ruled. Many humans also lived as slaves to the Dragons. After the fall of the Dragons, when the followers of The Way of Amrak brought civilization with them, The Empire of Camelonia was founded, and an age of stability began. Great cities and kingdoms rose up from where there previously had only been hamlets and tribes.
Even though the Western Lands are civilized today, humans here are still a hardy folk. People who know a practical craft are still valued, and cityfolk are often thought of as soft. Many people know the land, and put great value in it. Humans often travel far and wide, and are not content with only knowing their own village.
Each of the human kingdoms in the Western lands also have their own identity and culture. And they are proud of it and like to show it off. It is easy to see which of the kingdoms a human comes from. The people of the south tend of have darker skin, and darker hair. While northerners have pale skin and pale hair.
